Digital Painting - Landscapes Project Deadline: Friday March 11th Project Directions: You will be using the painting tools (brushes, pencils, etc.) in Photoshop to create a landscape painting from scratch. You are also going to be researching and writing about a famous landscape painter. The landscape painter you choose to research is going to to serve as your inspiration for your painting. Step 1: Choose a painter to research from the following list.
Step 2: Research the painter you chose. Write a summary about your artist. Your summary needs to be typed in Microsoft Word and should be at least half-page in length. You need to cite your sources at the bottom of your summary. In your summary, you must include the following information:
Step 3: Sketch (on paper) 2-3 ideas for your painting. Remember, your final painting needs to be done in the style of the painter you chose! Turn your sketches in to Mrs. K for approval before you begin work on the computer. Step 4: Open a new document in photoshop. My recommendation is to make the document 10 inches wide and 8 inches high, with a resolution of 300 pixels/inch. Step 5: Begin painting! This project is all about experimenting with the brushes in photoshop, so have fun experimenting! :) PLEASE NOTE: You have two weeks for this project. I expect this to be an in-depth project. Remember that a big part of your final project grade will be the effort I see you putting forth during class. | Examples ![]() Vincent Van Gogh, The Starry Night ![]() Joseph Mallord William Turner, The Slave Ship |
